MSA’s US office is managed by Wynford Jones, MA, BSc., and is located just outside Boston. With almost 30 years involvement in marketing strategy, planning and research Wyn brings to bear direct experience of the challenges of company growth, international sales, and internal change.
He has held senior management positions in the UK and the US, including over ten years as Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning for a Massachusetts based company involved in electronic imaging hardware and software. In that role he was deeply involved in a dramatic expansion and repositioning of the company’s product line, and the development of a comprehensive multi-channel distribution strategy on a world-wide basis.
He also has many years experience in strategy and marketing consultancy, and has contributed to, and managed, major international projects for clients throughout the US, Europe and Asia. His industry experience covers a wide spectrum from travel and tourism, special steels and food ingredients to bio-technology, franchise services and wire and cable. He has published articles in various industry journals as well as co-authoring “Core Competence and New Business Development”, published in Long Range Planning – the journal of the Strategic Planning Society. He has served on the Board of a number of companies in both the US and Europe, and is currently a Board member for Videocom Inc. – a New England supplier of satellite transmission services.
MSA has been particularly active in developing entry strategies for offshore companies wanting to enter the US, covering everything from large scale interviewing and market research through to distributor/dealer searches, as well as major US/Canadian acquisition projects. Echoing the same theme, MSA has also worked with a number of US clients to help evaluate or implement export strategies – especially for W. Europe.
Building on Wyn’s personal background, a major focus of the company’s efforts is onintensive market strategy development programs, with a significant hands-on involvement with clients in a variety of roles.
